St John's - for young people and families

Second Sunday Family Service:

This service takes place at 9.30am every second Sunday of the month. It is a short, informal non-communion service for families and all ages.

Celebrate:

Celebrate is an informal communion service for families and people of all ages, held on occasional Sundays at 9.30am. For details see the noticeboards, Parish Magazine, weekly notices or this website.

Sunday School:

Sunday School is held on Sundays in term time during the main 9.30 service (except Second Sunday and Celebrate services).

After a short introduction in church, children go into the John Pearson Hall for Sunday School. Activities vary but generally include worship, and music, and activity groups for different ages. The children return to the church to join their families for Communion. The material we work with is usually taken from books produced by the Scripture Union, which aims to introduce stories and themes from the Bible using interesting and fun activities.

If you are a parent, grandparent or anyone else, you are welcome to bring your children, grandchildren or those you look after to Sunday School. You can come each week, every month or just now and then. Please feel free to drop in on a Sunday and see what we do - we would love to see you.

Sunday School Co-ordinator: Rolly Thomas or tel: 01962 736256.

Crèche:

A crèche is available for babies and younger children in the John Pearson Hall during the 9.30 Parish Communion services.

Messy Church:

Messy Church is a once a month time when families come together to enjoy making things together, eating together and celebrating God together, but not on a Sunday. It is a church for all ages: adults are welcome with a child in tow, or vice versa. This runs on the third Saturday of the month in the John Pearson Hall.
