St John's Parish Church, New Alresford, Hampshire

The Listening Church programme began towards the end of 2006 and continued with a monthly meeting throughout 2007.....

Thanks to the inspiration from God through the writings of Anne Long, Joyce Huggett and Michael Mitton, we at St.John’s Church here in New Alresford feel that it is the right time to enter a phase of becoming a “listening church”.

Two years ago we completed a year discovering various forms of prayer and spirituality, which enabled us to see how best God and the individual can relate to one another.

St.John’s is an active body of people, with a structure of teams and Parochial Church Council working together in areas of faith-education, outreach, care in and through the community, world issues and links, ministry and worship. We have a lot of people doing things, but unless we are prepared to listen to God, one another and ourselves, our doing will be without purpose and proper direction.
