Pat Clegg's Licensing on 17th October
Pat’s Licensing on 17th October was a wonderful occasion.
Bishop Trevor, commenting upon the regularity of licensings within the Benefice,
was joined by a number of people from Pat’s past, including a considerable
number of clergy, and others from far-flung parts of the Arle Valley.
A number of people were involved in the service, and Pat’s choice of music
and readings betrayed her pastoral agenda, not least of all the words of
the Iona song “A Touching Place”. We were particularly grateful to the Bell
ringers for the Quarter-Peal; Bob for playing the organ, and Keith for putting
the Licensing at the top of his agenda when he should have been elsewhere!
Just about everybody went into the John Pearson Hall afterwards, where Hefin
and the Catering Team had prepared cheese and wine to refresh those who had
sung their lungs out!
Thanks one and all for help before, during and after, which made such a significant
start for Pat and for all of us in this new phase in the life of our Benefice.
The pattern of Pat’s availability for us in the Benefice is Sundays and two
other days during the week. At the moment Pat will be with us on Tuesdays
and Wednesdays.
