Beginning on Advent Sunday 2004, and continuing through 2005 and into the start of 2006, we at St.John's
New Alresford set ourselves the task of discovering Jesus the
Jew, the Jesus who read and lived the Old Testament scriptures.
By enjoying some of the festivals Jesus celebrated as a Jew, and with talks
from various speakers on our relationship with Judaism, we hoped to deepen
our understanding of Jesus' faith and culture. By looking at contemporary
Judaism, we addressed the wider issues of racism and religious intolerance.
